After Gotham City had fallen under control of the mob which was headed by the gangster Lew Moxon, Thomas decided to leave the running of Wayne Enterprises to his friend and vice president, Lucius Fox. Thomas then ran for the position of Gotham's district attorney and was elected on the promis that he would put an end to Moxon's reign of terror. Back From The Dead[]

In an attempt to get Batman to join him Rā's al Ghūl stole the bodies of Thomas and Martha and placed them in the Lazarus Pit and revived them. Batman at first considered Rā's al Ghūl's offer because he saw that Rā's could give him everything he wanted including his parents and the end of crime. However, Batman soon discovered that Thomas and Martha were under mind control. In the end Thomas sacrificed himself to save his son from Rā's al Ghūl.

  • Instead of becoming a doctor this version of Thomas Wayne studied law and became Gotham's district attorney. However, Thomas Wayne does appear to have a limited amount of medical knowledge since he was able to help Leslie Thompkins patch up a bullet wound on Carmine Falcone.
  • In season two it is revealed that the death of Thomas Wayne is the main reason for most of the crime and corruption in Gotham City. Once it became clear that even wealthy, important people could be murdered so easily, citizens began to lose faith in the police, and the police themselves started to lose faith in their importance, leading to corruption within the force.
