Scarecrow was a psychiatrist and professor turned villian that studied fear and it's affects on people. Scarecrow is voiced by Frank Welker and Jonathan Crane is voiced by Jim Parsons.

Origin[]

As a child Jonathan Crane was a bookworm who was victimized school bullies and raised by a grand mother who would regularly punish him by leaving him in a run down chapel where flocks of crows would torment him. Crane soon mastered his fears and grew up to be a professor who studied phobias. Jonathan Crane started out as a psychiatrist for Arkham Asylum. However, he secretly worked for Lew Moxon. Crane was obbessed with fear and it's affect on people and studied it for years. Crane eventually developed a gas that would cause people to hallucinate their worst fears. Crane would often use the inmates of Arkham to test his gas.

Season 1[]

When the fear gas was perfeted Moxon ordered Crane to blackmail the city into paying them two million dollars or else they would release the gas into Gotham City. To fit his motif of fear Crane adopted the guise and name of the Scarecrow. Scarecrow then attacks a charity benefit that is attended by Bruce Wayne. All the party guest get affected by the gas including Wayne. Later, Scarecrow (on orders from Moxon) delievers a video to the Gotham City Police Department saying that unless he is paid two million dollars he would release the gas all over Gotham City. However, Lucius Fox was able to find a cure for the gas. Batman eventually deduced that Scarecrow planed to use the Gotham Natural Gas Processing Plant to pump the Fear Gas into every home in Gotham City. When Batman tracked Scarecrow down the two fought. However, physically Scarecrow was no match for the Dark Knight. After his defeat Scarecrow became an inmate at Arkham Asylum. After Bane caused a break out at Arkham, Scarecrow escaped and teamed up with Joker and took Mayor Hamilton Hill hostage. As Batman arrived to stop them Scarecrow exposed Batman to his Fear Gas and he and Joker got away. Sometime later Scarecrow attempted to rob a bank. When Batman arrived he defeated Scarecrow. The police then arrived and arrested Scarecrow and took him back to Arkham Asylum.
